On March 18th we had our fetal echocardiogram for Elise and not only did they focus on the four chambers of the heart, but they did another full anatomy scan so we were able to see all of her all over again (which made my whole week :). Luke and I were so thrilled to see our little baby on the hi-tech machines, they are so unbelievably clear! She is measuring big now, just like her sister. Hoping for another big, healthy baby :) Elise, your daddy keeps insisting that you have his profile and I think he's right :). Of course, the best news was that, at this point, you have no detectable heart defects which we've been praying every night to hear. You were only 5x more likely than any other baby to have a VSD like Ella. The average risk is only 1/1,000 but it was still amazing to hear that your heart was beating strong as ever! We are beyond blessed and dreaming of the day we get to hold you and kiss you. I always think about the fact that even though you're in my belly, I love that I get to be with you all day, every day. I know it won't be like that again so I'm enjoying every minute. This pregnancy has been a lot easier (even though I was really sick in the beginning) but has just flown by! Thus far, I haven't had any heartburn or acid reflux (knock on wood :).

My sweet Elise, we had so much fun "sprinkling" you with love this past weekend! As usual, I had way too much fun planning and organizing every single detail of the party. A friend at work suggested the theme "Girl in the Curl" since I was counting on "Ahoy, it's a Boy" until your sex was confirmed :) Every day for a month after school, I would try to spend 30 minutes or so working on the party whether it was putting stickers on vintage milk jars or painting letters that spelled out your name. Your Aunties & Mimi were so much help during the whole process and especially the night before when they all stayed over super late putting pom-poms together and hanging fishing line for the lanterns. Kara & Lindsay always come through with the baked goods and make the most delicious treats. My favorite part had to be the edible baby laying on the surfboard on top of the cake. It looked so real! Ella developed a high fever on Friday, the day before the shower (which we now know was a mild case of foot, hand, & mouth- poor baby!) so Nana was kind enough to run errands with me from 9am-5pm (and I'm not exaggerating) so that you could stay in the car and sleep. She's only been out here for 2 weeks and already she's been such a huge help (you are home sick with her today). We visited the OC Wholesale Flower Mart and I knew we probably shouldn't have gone because it's the best place in the whole world :) I would buy flowers there every weekend if I could!
Ella has become obsessed with kissing my tummy and talking to you. She's not quite ready to give up her room, but I'm sure once she sees you, she'll change her mind. I'm feeling you twist, turn, and kick all day now and it's the best feeling in the world. Sometimes you catch me off guard and I have to stop what I'm doing because you're moving your whole body! You already have become the perfect addition to our family and we love daydreaming about our beach days this summer with our girls :)

Ellabells, you are more fun now than ever! I can't believe how well you communicate and how articulate you've become. You question everything and are the best little negotiator on the planet, especially when you want candy. You have a voice like me, but sing all day long to nursery rhymes and disney songs. Our favorite thing you do is when you see something unique or unusual you say "Whhhhaaaatttt?" in a really hi-pitched twang with a southern accent. Your dad and I love imitating you and you think it's the funniest thing ever. You love to dance and run around saying "shake your booty, shake your booty". Just like your Aunts, you get in these really goofy-can't stop laughing-moods and it's hard to get you out of them but ridiculously funny to watch. Bedtime has become a struggle and takes almost an hour. You always need one more story (you have to have a combination of stories being read to you and stories being told to you), one more doll, one more milk or juice bottle, or have to use the bathroom one more time. You love your new room but are insisting that you need BOTH rooms. It broke my heart when you bursts into tears yesterday when you realized that I had taken down the letters that spelled out your name over the changing table and replaced them with Elise's. You love saying and spelling your name and when you looked up to say E-L-L-A and saw there was E-L-I-S-E you said, "those are new letters". You were totally fine with it until I made the mistake of telling you that it was your new baby sister's name. Then, naturally, you despised the new letters and wanted them taken down immediately. You wanted to walk around with your letters and find a better spot for them. So sad and yet so cute at the same time. We are so in love with you and cherishing every moment with you that we have before your sister comes :)
