2 Years Old!

Ella, it scares me to death how fast these past two years have flown by. I have spent the past couple of days organizing pictures and it astonishes me how much you have changed since that June morning we brought you home from the hospital. You have transformed into such an energetic little toddler with such an incredible personality. My little social butterfly :) You are speaking so well and love to repeat anything that your dad and I say. My favorite is "Oh (pause) My (pause) Gosh! You look like a little angel with golden blonde hair (everyone accuses me of dying it, but I promise I wouldn't ever do that. At least not this early, lol)! You adore your cousins more than anything and ask to play at their houses all of the time. You are quite the demanding little child and can be very stubborn, but I wouldn't want you any other way :) When you get in a bad mood, you will often just repeat the word "no" for what feels like forever. It drives your Auntie Kiki crazy, lol!

Your birthday party was so much fun and Zoomars is your absolute favorite place (besides the beach of course)! You had such a blast playing with all of your friends. I had so much fun planning every little western detail and was thrilled that you actually understood that it was "Ewwa's Birfday". I loved watching you enjoy the limelight :) You really are a character! I've never seen a toddler shake their bootie like you. Dancing is definitely your favorite activity, you danced on the "stage" for half the party (mommy & daddy made a cool mix for you)! You just loved stomping around in your cowboy boots and didn't fight mommy putting on your western girl outfit. All of our friends were so unbelievably generous. You got so many amazing gifts! Caillou is your favorite show and you actually shrieked with excitement when you opened the doll from Uncle Johnny. The best part was that the Austad family (who now live in NYC) were able to come out and share the day with us! Couldn't ask for anything more. I wish we could put on a party like that every single year!!!!

At your 2 year old doctor visit you weighed 28lbs (80th percentile) and were 37 inches tall (still over 98th percentile, now they don't say 100th percentile). Your blood-work came back beautiful and you are just as healthy as can be. Just this past Sunday, you fell out of your crib so we converted it to a toddler bed. It has been a very challenging week but you finally fell asleep in your new bed with no fight last night. Every other night you have come to sleep with us at some point and even fell out of our bed once, poor thing :( You are the craziest sleeper in the entire world, moving around every 30 minutes and getting yourself into precarious positions. Too funny! We also recently tried potty training (just at the house until I finish summer school). The first time I explained to you to come tell me when you had to go peepee because I was taking off your diaper, you were amazing! Ten minutes went by and you came to me and said, "potty please" and went right on cue! It turns out it that it was beginner's luck because you only do it if you're naked. If you have your big girl underwear on, you have no problem wetting yourself. Cracks me up!

This morning at swim lessons you were incredible! Even other parents stopped to compliment us! You were able to "swim" (more of an underwater doggie paddle, but you were kicking and moving) and then roll over to your back to breathe all by yourself!!! And you repeated this THREE times! Such a big girl! Everyone thought you must be at least 3 years old (little did they know, you just turned 2). We could not be more proud of your swimming abilities. You really work well in a structured environment and Waterworks has been perfect for you, even if we have to drive to Irvine. Since we are always near water we know how important it is for you to be confident. We also just signed you up for Princess Ballet and Fairy Tap at the Irvine Community Center (you love having cousin Story with you and did much better in the second class even though you were very hyper and dancing all over the place :). Tap starts in August and this Tuesday is your first ballet/jazz/tumbling class at the South Coast Conservatory which is right down the street so it will be much easier to get to. They just opened a 2 year old class so I'm very excited. This week we might check out the Laguna Niguel YMCA tumbling for 2 year old's too. I promise I'm not pushing you, but you need some kind of activity every day because you have SOOO much energy. More pics to come :) We love you so much sweet girl! xoxo
